Teachers Union donates heavily to incumbents campaign

The teachers union donates $9,000 to The First Party campaign of Quigley, Gougis, Venegas and Hansen.  Was it money well spent?  Will the community say "no" to The First Party and elect new bloods this time around?  What do you think?

  1. I am shocked at the donation and amazed!! I am running for a seat and was interviewed by the teacher's union and was told in my interview that I alone was the most savvy, I alone had the most knowledge and I alone knew "more than the rest of the candidates we have interviewed so far..." (yes, the quotations do reflect a direct quote.) There was only one candidate left after my interview. I can tell you this...I do not need $9000 to run in this election! Win or lose....you do NOT need $9000 to run in a municipal election for a VOLUNTEER position!! This is upsetting to me because it is proof that this community continues to spend money outrageously. I would never have accepted such a generaous contribution because it is uneccessary.

  3. Lets remember that the contract Quiqley offered the union and then approved represented 21.5% over 4 years. It's understandable why they donated the money. Quigley must be voted out.

  4. This is an example of why government unions should be banned. The same people who negotiate with them and give them raises with taxpayers money are receiving their campaign contributions. It's an outrage and April Gavin gets my vote.

  5. I just think anyone that gives Steve Quigley $9,000 is a fool. He cannot even spend the tax money right, yet alone a donation! Do you even see $9,000 worth of signs? Heck no!

  6. How much of the $9,000 found its way into Mayor Claar's pocket?
