Teachers Union gives school board incumbents the endorsement

Rumor has it, the teachers union will throw their support behind board president, Steve Quigley, Rick Gougis and Leo Venegas (for Valley View School Board).  Since the teachers union and high labor cost have been under scrutiny lately, do you have any opinions in support of the unions, or against?

  1. The question that needs to be answered is.....did the VVSD union council endorse the candidates or is this endorsement from Roger's buddy DICK Manly at the union office in Joliet?

  3. It's the actual council, not Mannely

  4. It is all about the money. Anyone will endorse someone if they will benefit from it.

  5. As I have stated many times, Quigley and Gougis are left wing socialists. Its no wonder the Unions support them. Let us not forget that Quigleys buddy Claar himself was a teacher. Extreme left wing socialists like these two tend to stick together.

  6. Rumor has it? Either the union has endorsed them, or it hasn't. If you have to start the story with "rumor has it" then I would venture to guess no public endorsement has, of yet, been given. In which case this is a non-story.

P.S. - And for all of you who keep throwing around the "left-wing socialists" label please note, the definition of socialism is: "A political and economic theory which advocates that the community as a whole should own and control the means of production, distribution, and exchange."

Which, by it's very definition, makes the idea of having public schools and a public school board - socialism.

  7. There is no coincidence that the school budgets were already passed. Now, months later they find room in a tight budget to approve teacher raises? The same week as an endorsement?

We are not blind and we will vote against these money hungry monsters!

Could not agree more, that's why I support the voucher system.

  10. Didn't the VVSD local union council decide not to endorse any candidates last BOE election (2009)? Ask the teachers in the district (and many live in the district) who they think should be endorsed.

  11. REALLY? Why would the VVSD Teacher's Union endorse a bunch that is associated with an idiot who repeatedly berates, insults, and degrades the teaching force in this district? Is Vicky out of her mind?

Yes, they (the fiends of Valley View, oops sorry meant friends...NOT)are his close pals. Ever hear the saying, "if you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas"? Got any flea powder?

  13. Yeah, but they do know he owes his job to Roger. Funny how Evans, Quigley, and Bull (he does a lot of business with the village) all depend on Roger for their source of income. Have the first two ever had real jobs...they sound an awful lot like the community organizer in the white house, no real job experience.
