DuPage Township perform duplicative services

Save taxpayers $2 million a year by eliminating Du Page Township.  The Assessor's office can be moved to the County.

  1. Absolutely it can, no collar county should have a Township in this modern era. Townships worked when it took a day to ride a horse between the township and the county seat in Joliet, but its time they went.

I also support Quinn in his bid to combine school districts as that would reduce costs and lower property taxes.

Too much government and too much taxation, is that not why we declared independence in 1776?

  2. Yes, the Township should be dissolved. It's functions can be absorbed by other governmental units like Will County, Village of Bolingbrook and the Bolingbrook Park District. The recent pr piece in the Patch about Anthony Morelli and his activities for youth should be part of the Park District.

  3. Another duplication is the activities and recreation department newly created for Anthony Morelli. This department should be part of the Park District ...if there is a need in our community.

  4. The only reason the Township exists is to give Claar's friends jobs, Trustee family members jobs, and make people think they are "special" in those jobs. It has gotta go!

What are you smoking? Turn all the money from the local school districts over to the county or state? You've got to be crazy! I want local elected control over my tax money that goes to the schools.

Image how bad it would be if we had to depend on the state or county to get our funds. Oh yeah we already do for some of it, and the state owes the school district millions.

On top of the money, they want the school board positions to be appointed. How corrupt do you think that process would be.

Take the Township and multiple by several 100 x's.........
